Hi! I am Lydie,

Originally from Switzerland, I've been living in Barcelona since 2017. I'm a certified yoga instructor, specializing in Ashtanga, Tantra, Yin, and Psychotherapeutic Yoga. With extensive experience teaching and running a yoga studio in Barcelona, I've come to understand the unique needs of each student.

My own yoga journey has shown me that it's more than just a physical practice. Yoga is a powerful tool for mental and emotional well-being, as well as for regulating the nervous system. Having faced a stressful lifestyle in the corporate world, I understand the impact of modern life and the importance of creating a sense of safety and balance in both body and mind. My classes focus on embodiment and nervous system regulation. I have developed a safe space for individuals to learn, cultivate awareness, and find joy within their bodies.

Introduction to Yoga and Psychotherapeutic Yoga

What is Yoga?

Yoga is an ancient discipline originating from India that combines spiritual and physical aspects to foster harmony between the body, mind, and soul. It utilizes breathing techniques (pranayama), physical postures (asanas), and meditation. The word comes from the Sanskrit root 'Yuj,' meaning 'to unite.' While there are numerous styles and lineages, they all share the goal of enhancing physical and mental health and increasing spiritual awareness.

What is Psychotherapeutic Yoga?

Psychotherapeutic Yoga is a fusion of yoga, Eastern philosophy, and Western science. Its aim is to regulate the nervous system, enhancing physical, mental, and emotional well-being. With consistent practice, issues such as mental fatigue, insomnia, stress, anxiety, exhaustion, and unresolved trauma can be alleviated. If you seek to go beyond traditional therapy and understand the connection between mind and body, this type of yoga is for you.

How will your Psychotherapeutic Yoga sessions be?

During a Psychotherapeutic Yoga session, we address physical, mental, and emotional concerns through the science of yoga. Each posture, pranayama, and meditation technique is carefully selected to influence your metabolism and nervous system, promoting energetic balance and mood regulation.

We will start by discussing your goals—creating a personalized plan tailored to your needs. Together, we will explore a variety of topics, including:

Yoga Fundamentals: Discover the postures that regulate your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, and learn how to achieve balance in both body and mind.

Pranayamas: Master the three essential breathing techniques that are crucial for calming the mind and energizing the body.

Meditation: Immerse yourself in three accessible meditation practices that you can integrate into your daily routine.

The 7 Chakras: Experience specific flows and mantras designed to harmonize each chakra.

Ayurveda and the 3 doshas: Learn how to customize your yoga practice to balance your dominant dosha and optimize your overall health.
